What it is designed to cover
Towing: what you will be able to book
Exact services depend on each worker's profile. Describe your job and confirm the details in chat before you pay.
- Point-to-point tow: from where your vehicle is to where you want it taken
- Cars, SUVs, vans, pickups and motorcycles
- Price shown before you confirm, with a price cap
- Payment held in escrow until the job is done
How it is designed to work
Price first, then you confirm.
Set the pickup and the drop-off
Tell us where the vehicle is, where it should go and what kind of vehicle it is. You also see a short safety checklist first.
See the price and the price cap
Before you confirm, you see the estimated price and a maximum price (the cap). You pay into escrow, not to the operator directly.
An operator accepts and comes to you
Tow operators choose to accept a job. You see who is coming, with the truck and plate details, before they arrive.
Hand over, then confirm
A start code is used at pickup and a handover code at drop-off. Any change in distance or price needs your approval in the app.
Safety
Safety comes before speed.
Injured or in danger? Call 911 first. Jaypees is not an emergency service.
- Safety tips before you bookMove away from traffic, turn on your hazard lights and stay behind the guardrail if there is one.
- Start code at pickupGive the code only when you see the tow truck and operator that match the details in the app.
- Handover code at drop-offA second code is used at drop-off, so the vehicle is released only to the right person.
- Photos of the vehiclePhotos of the vehicle are taken in the app at pickup and at drop-off, as a record of its condition.
- SOS buttonAn SOS button is planned on every active job. It alerts our support team and shows a tap-to-call 911 screen.
FAQ
Towing questions
When does Towing open?
We do not have an opening date yet. Use the sign-up form on this page and we will send you one message when it opens. We do not message you about anything else.
Is Jaypees an emergency service?
No. If someone is injured, or there is fire, smoke or a fuel smell, move away from the vehicle and call 911 first. Jaypees is not an emergency service.
How is the price set?
The app is designed to show an estimated price and a maximum price before you confirm. If the drop-off changes and the price goes up, you approve it in the app first. We have not published prices.
What are the start code and the handover code?
The start code is for pickup. The handover code is for drop-off. Each one is shown in your app. Share it only with the person who matches the details in the app.
Can I use Jaypees on an expressway?
Expressway operators may require their own assistance. Call their hotline first and follow their rules.
How far can a tow go?
We expect to start with shorter tows within one province. Details will be on this page when the service opens.
Can I book a truck or bus tow?
Not in the first release. Cars, SUVs, vans, pickups and motorcycles come first.
Also see Roadside Assistance.
